When I was 13, I was shy and afraid.
I met a Friend, who said, stick with me kid, and I will take you places.
So, I friended this new friend, and it was great! I was funny, sociable and no longer afraid! as I got older, this friend did what he said, he took me places, and I became part of the crowd!
I had fun! I laughed, did stupid and funny things, and people laughed at...no I mean laughed with me.
High School was torture, but my friend helped me graduate!
When I became an adult, my friend was not as much fun anymore, but for some reason, I knew I could not survive without him. Life became miserable, but my friend convinced me to leave, and run away from where I was.
So, I did this, and my friend came with me! I started to have fun again. As life progressed, my friend was becoming possessive.
Everywhere I went, he was there, and to be honest he annoyed me. But he was part of me now, and no matter what I tried he would not leave.
Other people tried to convince me to get rid of him, and I refused. Then I saw all my peers, who were moving ahead of me in life, at high speed, and they were enjoying life. Life became dangerous, my friend got me arrested, locked up and family and other friends stopped speaking to me.
I was 25 now, and I was lonely and scared! I decided to stop hanging around my friend, but he would not leave me alone.
With the help of my "NEW FRIENDS" I was able keep this "OLD FRIEND" away, but he still persisted. That "OLD FRIEND" will never stop; I know that.
During the rest of my life, my old friend became angry, and was able a couple of more time to get me in trouble.
However, by the Grace of God, my New Friends, finally got him to go away again.
Today, I am free of the "OLD FRIEND", and enjoy life with my "NEW FRIENDS".
My Old Friend is still there, but he is in handcuffs, and behind bars.
Some day he will get out, and the first thing he will do is knock at my door.
However, if I continue to keep my "NEW FRIENDS" and GOD close, I will not answer that door!
OLD FRIEND = ALCOHOL
